You are nothing more than a blur in the distance.
I can see you inside our old house, hidden from the cold winter.
I smile at you from the outside, letting the cold consume me as my body is a stiff heap.
As that moment passes, my smile fades - for it was only a memory.
I watch as the snow melts around my feet, sending a comforting warmth to me, bringing my
cold body back to life.
Now that old house of ours that was once a safe place from the cold, is the nightmare that breaks my sleep every night.
You are still in my vision, but now you are nothing more than a silhouette inside the flames.
The snow that was chilling my body is replaced with falling ashes.
